Frosty Morning…

Corey and I went hunting Saturday morning, December 3, 2011. The morning was cold, about 18°F. But, there was frost on everything, it was absolutely beautiful. My cell phone never captures anything close to reality, but I captured a couple photos from the morning. Even though the hunting was unsuccessful, the day spent with my son was priceless. I look forward to many more with all three boys and happily reflect on the many we’ve already experienced.

Hemlock, Beech and Fern…

The sun trickles though the woods, as does Roberts Run, on a cold November morning. Although it is mid-November, there is still color in the NW Pennsylvania forests. The Beech trees always seem to be the last to lose their leaves, some ferns still green, and the native hemlock is always a stately green.

This drake mallard was paddling around some weeds along the Allegheny River shoreline on Thursday, 11/17/11, during a brief snow squall. He seemed oblivious to me and to the weather.

November Sunset from our front yard…

Last evening, 11/16/11, the sunset was gorgeous. Even though I don’t think the sun was visible at all during the day, Leeann and I were amazed when we looked out the window as the sun was going down. A beautiful sunset, something my photos don’t come close to capturing.

Storm Front…

After a week of not looking at any photos I took, I was surprised to find a couple photos of which I forgot. Here’s my favorite… a cold front on 11/9/11 headed for Clarion, PA after several days of beautiful warm weather.
